ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Siobhán, a publishing professional with ten years experience across editorial, marketing, and book publicity. As the former Editorial Director of Book of the Month (the largest book subscription service in the country), I selected books for an audience of millions, spending time along the way with thousands of high-quality stories across genres including literary fiction, romance, mystery, fantasy, memoir, and more. I’ve also provided editorial support to a wide variety of clients, from self-published authors to Penguin Random House.

My writing on books has been published in the New York Times Book Review. I’m also a former #bookstagrammer (check out the now-inactive @bestbookgrams on Instagram, if you like). An omnivorous reader and a nerd for story structure, I love helping writers meet their goals.

I grew up in St. Louis, MO and received my B.A. at the University of Texas at Austin before spending almost ten years in New York City. Currently, my wife and our dog Selena split time between Brooklyn and Mexico City. Besides reading, my hobbies include eating, learning Spanish, and sussing out the links between academic theory and reality TV.

Hello!

What I Offer

Whether you’re looking to successfully self-publish, query an agent, or put the final polish on grandpa’s memoir in time for the holidays, I can help you put together a plan, share actionable feedback, and provide the support you need to ensure your book reaches its gorgeous final form.

Whether you’ve got a full manuscript ready to go or haven’t yet put pen to page, I can advise you on your story concept, market positioning, getting out of a plotting rut, and more. Come prepared with questions. After booking your consultation, you can also email up to 1000 words describing your synopsis, background information, or the challenges you’re facing so no time is wasted getting up to speed.
